Top with Wavy Scoop Neckline – White

A tank top, also called a cami, is a sleeveless top held by two shoulder straps. Wide straps cover a bra strap and need no extra shoulder panel, narrow ones look airier. The neckline sets the character: a square one reads cleaner, a scoop or round one softer.

A scalloped edge does not run straight but in small arcs. In knitwear it is formed while knitting, on woven fabrics it is sewn or embroidered. It replaces the plain edge with a fine detail and makes a plain top look less severe.

On its own a top is mainly worn on warm days and in the evening. As a layer under a shirt, a blazer or a jacket it takes the same pants into everyday territory and lets you adjust to the temperature as the day goes on.

A U-neck is a round, deep neckline shaped like a U. It is deeper than a crew neck and leaves the neck and décolleté bare.

White goes with everything and is often used as a base. Next to strong colors it acts as a calm anchor, next to cream and beige it creates a soft tonal look. Pure white next to off white can look busy, though, because the difference shows.
